Elikem Amable-Brumfield, CNM is Birth Detroit's newest Certified Nurse midwife. Elikem obtained her Bachelors of Science from Michigan State University and became a nurse on Labor and Delivery at Henry Ford Health. While working as a nurse she realized her true passion for childbirth and women's health so she went back to school and obtained her Masters of Science from the University of Michigan to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a midwife. Elikem was a CNM at Henry Ford Health for the past 12 years before joining the Birth Detroit team. She comes with a wealth of knowledge, experience and a strong passion for assisting women and their families during the most vulnerable time in their lives. Elikem has always wanted to be apart of building the first free standing birth center in Detroit to provide birthing options for Detroit families.
